the kids on the block

here are the kids on the block...we went to get pizza tonight and as we were all walking in our delightful downtown they spotted a big spider in a new store. i guess the store owner will have to get out her windex tomorrow. it was worth it for this cute pic! check out grady's highwaters...we just bought those for him...my baby is shooting up!

it's raining...it's pouring!

when we opened the door this morning and we saw that it was raining, mary maddox exclaimed, "it's raining...i need my cinderella!" she calls umbrellas cinderellas. is that not the cutest thing that you have ever heard. welcome to the world of a two year old. almost as cute is the way she says umbrella is the way that she holds it. as you can see from the photo above, i am not sure if she can see out from under it. thanks mm for making sunday worth it (the whole throw up in publix episode)

TGIM!

that is not a typo...I mean it...Thank God It is Monday! it was a rough sunday in our household. we went to church with alvin and lindsey. grady decided that he didn't want to be still so we had to leave right in the middle of Dr. Gulley's sermon. after church we went to publix to get stuff for sandwiches for lunch. of course the kids had to ride in the gigantic race car cart that is so difficult to maneuver. it is about 12:15 and all of the churches of lagrange had just let out and they were all in publix getting ready for sunday lunch. we were waiting patiently at the deli when grady started coughing...cough, cough, oh god here it comes...he throw up everywhere! it was like in stand by me. mm is crying saying...grady threwd up on me, grady threwd up on me! we race out of publix and get the kids out of the gigantic race car cart. i finally flagged down a worker and told him what happened and asked for something to clean the cart with. he brought back a few paper towels and glass cleaner...really, glass cleaner. anyway after i turn the cart upside down and get it all cleaned up i head back in the store to clean up the floor. it was everywhere. i couldn't get anyone to come help me or get anything to clean up with. finally have an eternity a lady finally came with stuff to clean up with just as grady threw up again! this time the smell got to mm and she was gaging too. costumers were giving me their tissues and asking how they can help. finally the lady at publix told me to leave that they would take care of it. when i stood back up and looked at her i busted out crying...yes, no warning, uncontrollable crying. i was frustrated, upset, and mortified. i just couldn't help myself. i just wanted to get out of that store as fast as possible. UGH! so this is why i say TGIM! i was ready for sunday to be over.

incidentally, our sunday got better. we got out the inflatable slide and played with our cousin will. it was a great end of sunday. also, grady wasn't really sick. he has a bad cold and very sensitive gag reflex. the combination is not good.!

this picture is the clothes that we all had to strip off once we closed the door at home!

yesterday afternoon we went to our the farmers market to get some pumpkins. the kids loved looking at all of them. grady tried to pick up the biggest one. doesn't mary maddox look sassy? i love the first one where it looks like a monster is sneaking up on grady...spooky!

saturday mornings

i love saturday mornings in the fall. the weather in the mornings is perfect. we opened the door and the kids loved sitting there with each other. it was so cute.

this is my favorite picture of my little buddy. he is growing up so quick. he has gone from being so little to growing, walking, and developing his little personality. love you grady-bug!

me & john

i was looking through some pictures today and found this one that my friend lindsey took of me and john...we don't have many of us together, but i especially love this one. we were on our way to a much needed date...we don't get enough dates.

the girls of the "hood"

here is a recent picture from leighton's birthday party. i love it. i love the looks on their faces. i am begining to be able to see what they will look and act like when they are older. it is kinda scary.

another great wednesday!

thanks bakers & lingenfelters for another great wednesday! we went to the new pizza joint in town with the bakers (sorry i left you out of the pics jim!) and the lingenfelters tonight. it was great. all of the kids were so well behaved! mm gobbled up a piece of pizza and 5...yes, i said 5, boxes of raisins...yikes! after dinner we "met in the street" for a chat. these pictures are from a early summer wednesday night outing to the columbus minor league baseball team.

i'm working my peuter mommy!

as i was getting some clothes in the dryer this morning, mm runs over to the computer and announces...i need to work on my peuter mommy! when i finished with the clothes, i walked over and thought how funny it really was...take note, she has just gotten done pottying, has not put a pull up on. (please don't mind the snowman pjs!) she was so proud of herself. when i downloaded the pictures, i couldn't believe how old she looked.

charlie joseph's

in our little town there is one place that we have to go every saturday...charlie joseph's. they have the best hot dogs! it was opened in 1920 and it brings you back to the old days. there isn't much that a hot dog and a coke in a glass bottle can't fix.

here are the pictures of grady's first charlie joseph's hot dog. it is a milestone in our family! i think that he liked it. what do you think?

go grangers

me & "my & co" are big granger fans (lagrange high school). here are the kids all dressed up and ready to go. john is really excited because mm really likes football. she sits and watches it with her daddy and says "go, go, go....get him, get him, get him!"

one of my favorite places

here is a picture of one of my favorite places in the world...my great neighborhood. i always knew that our neighborhood was great, but this summer really confirmed my thoughts. we decided early in the summer that we should get together more often. we each hosted "the neighborhood" each wednesday night. the host for the week prepared dinner for the whole crowd. this allowed the kids to play and the parents to chat. i think that it is so special because so many don't even know their neighbors. we always could count on a great time and a little break every wednesday. the summer has drawn to a close and our weekly gathering are coming to an end like all great summer activities do. we are moving it to a monthly thing so we will still have the fellowship with the crowd, but we always can count on "meeting in the street" with great friends.
